CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY POLICY (CSR POLICY)

PHILOSOPHY
Recognizing that business enterprises are the economic organs of society and draw on societal resources M/s. SYNOKEM PHARMACEUTICALS LIMITED (hereinafter referred to as “Company”) believes that it should contribute in building economic, social and environmental capital towards enhancing its societal sustainability. Corporate social responsibility (herein after referred as “CSR”) is an integral part of every business organization for long-term success. It creates a dynamic relationship between a Company, the society and environment.
OBJECTIVE
The key objective of this Corporate Social Responsibility policy (hereinafter referred to as “CSR Policy”) is welfare of the mankind by promoting education, fight against healthcare and other permissible humanitarian activities. The Company is committed to conduct its business responsibly, ethically and in environmental friendly manner and to work continuously towards improving the quality of life of the communities in its work and to give back to the community by assisting the disadvantaged.
FOCUS AREAS
The Company shall identify projects/ activities which will fall in any one or more of the following project/ activity for the purpose of CSR expenditure:
- Promoting preventive health care and sanitation and making available safe drinking water.
- Promoting education, including special education and employment enhancing vocation skills especially among children, women, elderly, and the differently abled and livelihood enhancement projects;
- Promoting gender equality, empowering women, setting up homes and hostels for women and orphans; setting up old age homes, day care centers and such other facilities for senior citizens and measures for reducing inequalities faced by socially and economically backward groups;
- Ensuring environmental sustainability, ecological balance, protection of flora and fauna, animal welfare, agro forestry, conservation of natural resources and maintaining quality of soil, air and water;
- Protection of national heritage, art and culture including restoration of buildings and sites of historical importance and works of art; setting up public libraries; promotion and development of traditional arts and handicrafts;
- Training to promote rural sports, nationally recognized sports, Paralympics sports and Olympic sports;
- Contribution to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund or any other fund set up by the Central Government for socio-economic development and relief and welfare of the Scheduled Caste, the Scheduled Tribes, other backward classes, minorities and women;
- Rural development projects and slum area development
- Any other area as may be identified by the CSR Committee from time to time.

Responsibilities of the CSR Committee
- Formulate and recommend to the Board of Directors, a CSR Policy which shall indicate the activities to be undertaken by the Company as specified in Schedule VII;
- Recommend the amount of expenditure to be incurred on the activities that are in line with the CSR Policy;
- Monitor the CSR Policy of the Company from time to time;
- Any other matter as may be considered necessary by the members in order to comply with the CSR Policy of the Company.
